Our Nepali master artist
created our beautiful Namgyalma statue with the jewelry and crown of a
Bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown
and jewels of the statue with turquoise or red stones. At no extra charge, the
skilled artisan can embellish the statue with these special decorations before
delivery.
The color turquoise is a
special combination of blue and green. Indeed, blue signifies the purity of the
Buddhas and green symbolizes their readiness to act. Additionally, devotees
meditating on the color red can transform the delusion of attachment into the
wisdom of discernment. The color red is often worn by other deities to pay
tribute to Amitabha Buddha. This Namgyalma statue will wear the adornments very
well and they will inspire all those who lay their eyes on your new statue.
There are special requirements
for Namgyalma statues listed in the sutra of measurements for the construction
of statues. Therefore, she is portrayed with the facial features of a young
woman no more than 16 years of age. Additionally, her fantastic features
include eight arms and three faces.
In the two hands in front of
her chest, she holds a double Dorje and rope. Also, with her third right hand
she offers gifts to her devotees by portraying the Varada mudra. She also holds
an arrow and a statue of Amitabha Buddha. In her lap, she holds the vessel of
longevity in the palm of her left hand. Her other left hand holds a bow and the
upper left hand depicts the Abhaya “protection” mudra. There is a third eye of
wisdom between her brows and an additional eye is in the palm of her right
hand.
Our
Namgyalma statue portrays a very popular deity in Nepal, Tibet and Mongolia.
This is because Tibetan Buddhists believe she is one of the three deities of
long life along with Aparmita (Longevity attribute of Amitabha Buddha) and
White Tara. Additional blessings she brings to the faithful include happiness,
wisdom, karma purification and protection from evil omens.
